Agree.

There is a credit union on my way out of the city that not only has replaced the flag when it has gotten faded etc. But they also raise and lower it daily. And they do not put it up when the weather is bad.
Just knowing that they have someone that does this makes me smile no matter what time of the day/night or what the weather is when I am stuck sitting there at the lights.

I have taken the one I fly off the porch down for the winter and it is properly folded and put away. When I needed to replace it last year I found a VFW two towns over that would take it and properly dispose of it.
Then there is the cities fire dept that has a torn, faded flag that is currently hung up on some tree branches. I am going to be buying them a new one shortly and giving it as a gift. They are cutting the fire dept here and I know a flag is the last thing on their minds. Not that it makes it right, but I dont expect anyone of them or the city to replace it at this point.

ITA.
I mean really. I do not want to see the flag of the United States spread out across a butt or "cut low" to show cleavage. Yuck.

Let alone having flag boxer shorts!

I didn't know about this one: The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose, nor embroidered on cushions or handkerchiefs, printed on paper napkins or boxes, nor used as any portion of a costume.

People do this all the time; however, I find it tacky. Just not my modus operandi.

I wonder if that includes pins and being printed on airplanes.

One would think so. I've seen the flag on business signs such as furniture stores. I would think having the U.S. flag on an airplane, especially next to a name like "U.S. Airlines", would fit the definition of "do nots" above. I would also take it to mean all those costumes where people wave little U.S. flags on sticks have to go, too.

way to go seismic wonder2 !!!!!!!!
