Hiya Welcome <waves accross the water >
Hello. I'm paul SAINTHOUSE from Widdrington Morpeth. On the beautiful but wet North east Coast. Near Amble Alnwick and Ashington.
Iv'e had 6 hens for about a year now and I get between 4 ad 6 eggs daily.
Welcome :frow Nice to see lots more people joining us.

I put the first ever six eggs ive had in the propogator 2 days ago. Not sure what i would do with the chicks !?, but im really keen to see what they are like if they are fertile and of course Joffreys first kids. (ok chicks then lol) Maybe if they all turn out ok as nice white polands maybe i could sell them as hatching eggs.

Hi UK people, I’m in Leicester
Just posted for the first time on here this afternoon in the newbie section.
Had a moan about the weather and found this thread (Hi Ken)
Can anyone tell me what to feed after layers pellets?
I don’t want to keep on with food that promotes laying if she’s all done.
Or maybe layers pellets are good all round food?
TIA
Alan

Im an still pretty new at this but I never thought about other food than layers pellets. I wasn't sure if thats ok for all adult chickens. Not sure what the others do, but maybe some chicken feed manufacturers have information on their websites.

Its nice to know there are a few chicken folk in UK, hope to catch up with some of you in due course. I've had chickens for quite a few years, but these girls are the new ones. Its good to sit and chat with them after a busy day. I just found out that they like yogurt, it fell in by mistake but they seem to love it, they won't be getting anymore for a while though. Does anyone else give their hens yogurt? Speak to you all again soon. K.

Hi, welcome to BYC!

I don’t give mine yogurt but they do love it and it’s good for giving them them good bacteria.

Hi Katie. Nice to see you here! I give mine natural yoghurt once in a while. I mix it with mash and a bit of oatmeal as a treat. They love it! Its also good if you need to give them medication! Just don't tell them!
