UK Member Please Say HI

Anyone got any brilliant ideas about how to get from Bristol airport to Wales at 9.45 on a Friday night in December if I cna't hire a car? I've got a stupid old UK license in my maiden name at a past address in the UK (can't change it as not resident but still legal to drive on here). Last time I needed a car my Aussie licence was still OK but now run out (you have to redo your pic every 3 years!).

There used to be a train from Temple Meads Station in Bristol direct to Cardiff. If my memory serves me there used to be bus as well, National Express.

Hi there, I live in the Haute Garonne region, not far from a small town called Aurignac. We are close to the Pyrenees and mid way between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
May I ask how long you've lived there and where in the UK (?) you came from?
Also, how are you finding living in France?

Hi Shadrach,
We’ve lived here, permanently, just under 5 years, moving out from Hertfordshire. We had the house two years before that as a holiday home and hated returning to the uk.
I really like living here. We’ve made nice friends, both English and French, and are slowly integrating into our local community (as much as you can as we weren’t born here!) as our French slowly improves. I like the quality and pace of life. And best of all, I now have chickens!!!

Hi PouleChick, are you still in the local area?
No we aren't, we had 8 years back in Australia and now we are in the Dordogne (not near the heavily British areas though!) which we love! Was 2008 we left. We were back in Castelnaudary for a friends birthday in September which was lovely! I do miss the mountains and the day trips skiing and to Andorra!

I was dragged up in Chorleywood Hertfordshire, not far from Watford.
How’s it going with the speaking French. In my experience the French are extremely fussy about their language. Thankfully this isn’t the case here where you can often hear a conversation conducted in a mixture of Spanish/Catalan and whatever other language the participants may speak. It can get very confusing.

This may help. I think you have to catch a bus then a train. Have you got family there?
