Aww, how sweet! He has come a long ways, in looks :)
I just tried to get a picture from now but the sun is just in the wrong place so they look a bit dark. Here he is with the kids!

I'm always kind of like Sherlock Holmes,,,,,, Or Watson,:idunno:gig:gig
Not exactly sure which of the two.
I suspect that Boomer may have ingested 15 ml of Guinness in this photo. Or is it a WINK at the camera:caf???

I think it's a wink! He does look a bit goofy!

Any of the 3 musketeers return yet? Is there a way for you to find out if there was actually a race held the day they went astray? If they did end up in a loft (somewhere else ) there are 3 possibilities. Loft owner not aware pigeon there. Loft owner decided to keep it anyway. Loft owner a bad person and could have done something evil.:hit
I just have this feeling that they will return,,,,,,,,,,, after they possibly jailbreak. :caf

Still no more returns. There has been alot of Pigeon activity recently with most race releases happening on a Saturday morning. These were released Saturday afternoon. I'm hoping if they have trapped somewhere then they just haven't been noticed yet but that's bad loft management imo. I hope someone hasn't decided to keep them. They won't be able to use them for anything other than breeding anyway. The trap is open all day and night and I haven't allowed the rest back out. They are getting restless and want to fly. There is alot of wing flapping going on.

I suggest you start removing those plastic eggs now.
I know losses are inevitable, but still sad. Just look at these as pigeons decided they wanted freedom:idunno:old
Avoid those Saturday loft flights. I know that is a good/choice day since you are probably home to watch their flying activity. Switch to Sundays maybe.

I'll take her eggs out and hopefully she will lay again in the next few days. Saturday is normally my cleanup day. All the chickens and pigeons get a thorough clean. It's easier to do the pigeons when they're not in. With hindsight it is probably not the best day to fly with all the other pigeons about, they fly most other days but I think Saturday can be there day off! With how much mine do fly I'm probably overdue some losses but as rubbish as it is, I could accept a loss to a hawk or such but losing some because they got lost or trapped elsewhere is frustrating especially as this was only a loft flight! Not knowing is the hardest.12 months in and 5 birds down. :(

Where are you considering housing those new arrivals?
Is there any drawback to keeping them (integrating them) into loft with the homers? And do you think the new ones are homer grade, or mixed mutts that may not have good homing skills?:idunno
One of my previous batches were pretty birds, and looked like homers, and were not rollers since I observed them flying with no acrobatics. Definitely were not High Flyers, LAZY AS 7734, and when scattered by a hawk, always a few (2 or 3) never returned. Never seen a hawk get one, but if it did, it would only be one.
I guess their homing skills were very weak.
Now I'm thinking that these may have been somehow inter-bred together with some white King Pigeons. Kings are not homing grade, but do come in really nice white feathering. (those I see around me are white)
Mine were not large though, so it is still a mystery.
