Alot better. She's not great on its feet but she's moving about fairly well. She has a curled toe so I'll have to sort that when I move her into the brooder. Two more have started to pip now! How's the chick today?

You will always have a bond with the bird however it will change and be more like mine I predict once he / she chooses a mate.have been basically inseparable since.
So you've got yourself a lap pigeon!View attachment 1395048
The one I found didn't get that memo, she wants attention 24/7 and follows me around the house if I try and perch her and go to do something. She also deems my hand to be her bed.

Boomer isn't all that happy when I pick her up. When I have her she's fine but does like being put back down though. You have a unique bond with that pigeon it does happen. It is rare however some fanciers never have that intimate connection especially to a homer.
My birds will fly to me and on me when I enter the loft especially. Not quite as often when they are at large but it does happen. If a pigeon does not avoid being picked up or handled in my loft it either needs medical attention or a grave.
I am happy for you back yard buddy. Lofts can vary as simple as your carrier mounted preferably off the floor or ground or elaborate structures costing thousands of dollars. If pigeons are safe from predators and out of the wind and rain for the most part that is all that is required. Oh! and clean feed and water they will return in some cases forever or die trying.she is now mine! I've called her Boomer!
You don't 'sound' like you're native to the UK. Expat?Yeah. They release alot of pigeons not far from here. They have a massive truck full of birds! It's really got me interested. My wife says I can only get some if we get a bigger house though! I'll just let her keep buying and breeding her rabbits! That could be good leverage!
Yeah I'm native! I moved around alot. Mostly Europe. Never been over ' the pond'! I nearly got a driving job in Canada. It was some years back now. I regret not doing it but we'd just bought our first house and my wife was pregnant. You don't 'sound' like you're native to the UK. Expat?
I know nothing about pigeons, so forgive me for saying she looks like a common rafter/phone line sitting barn pigeon. What differentiates the two, other than breeding? She's a racing homer and a 'blue bar' for the color and pattern. I have 3 like that.![]()
