Because a dog is a predator species...and a highly effective one. He should never have been allowed near the chickens. There are a MINORITY of canines that could be trusted in such a scenario...and I am a dog rescue who would prefer to be safe, rather than sorry.*** has lots of chickens. Swore up and down her dog was OK with chickens.

I’m down one bar rock chick. Broody has a bald patch from protecting chick. Dog went forcefully into her suv with explicit warning that if a paw hits my dirt it will be shot.
