Unacceptable Guest Dog

*** has lots of chickens. Swore up and down her dog was OK with chickens.
After an hour of telling her he wasn’t ok, and her saying she’s keeping extra special eye on him, I went to empty my bladder......

I’m down one bar rock chick. Broody has a bald patch from protecting chick. Dog went forcefully into her suv with explicit warning that if a paw hits my dirt it will be shot.

Why can people not have control over their dogs?
Some people just don’t know how important training is! They annoy me also! I Don’t let my highly trained dogs around my chicks.... at first sight they drooled... so? NOPE! never! I’m so sorry that happened

Man I would have wanted to kill her and the dog too. So sorry you lost a chick and your temper too because that’s all her fault. Dogs can never be trusted even if they are yours. Mine are very good with them but I always have my eye on them just in case they have a mind to go in reverse and change their mind and have yard bird for lunch that day! Lol!

I have this same problem to the point I've asked her not to bring her dog over. She does it anyway and insists that shes fine not being on a leash. Most of my chicks stay in the fence but my new barred rocks like to escape. I warned her that if her dog attacks my livestock I'll have to shoot it. She still brings the dog over. You cant teach an old dog new tricks if they walk on two legs. The only thing some people understand is consequences. This being said they were just in a park a couple of months ago with their dog on a leash and another owners dog was leashless and attacked their dog. My FIL shot that dog right in front of the owner. You would think they would understand better than anybody after that. But nope. People are the worst kind of animal
Amen!!!

I have been assuming they were chosen by computer--the ones that got the most posts within a certain amount of time recently (presumably meaning they they were the most popular.)
I agree, I think the system just tries to recommend what people seem to be interested in. It probably weighs the suggested articles it sends out by the amount of likes or some metric like that.

Can I ask what relationship this person is to you that she feels that she can disrespect you enough to just bring the unbehaved dog over to your house of leash free reign anyway? I never do that to my own parents or families house. Just wondering. Yes I am being nosy maybe.

Oh my husband would shoot the dog on sight also and so would I if he harmed my chickens, child, dogs, or anything else on my property.

They're both relatively stubborn but he is more reasonable. Both me and my fiancee have explained this to them that if they are going to bring their dog over it must be on a leash. Still nothing. Last time the brought it over my dog was in the fence and their dog came up to her viciously barking and growling. Before my dog attacked her through then fence my MIL quickly put her on a lease. She said "I dont know why they cant be friends" all disappointed. Heres why: your dog is untrained and is a butthead. Put it on a leash. Instead I said "thats why she needs to be leashed on our property"
Who is this person to your family that they get away with this behavior? And y’all haven’t gotten rid of them or the dog yet?

I would defend myself too in that situation! Hah don’t blame your dog at all. But definitely probably best to keep her locked up. That said though, the jumping and mouthing probably is play cause if she meant to hurt you, she probably would, BUT that does not make it acceptable behavior. Also pretty ironic and crummy they shot someone else’s dog for attacking theirs when theirs is untrained and maybe vicious? How do they know theirs didn’t antagonize the other dog first? I also would never just shoot a dog like that  even if it was attacking. I would just use pepper spray or something similar or scream at it, etc. or maybe kick it away if I had to but not shoot it. let alone in front of the owners. Didn’t even wait for them to grab it!? I could see maybe if it was a stray attacking livestock or something with no owner in sight but if the owner was there? And I wouldn’t even shoot it for that probably because it’s not their fault some dumb owner let the dog loose. Guns aren’t even allowed here without a license though and even if I had one, we’re too close to other houses to legally shoot.
Oh it’s your MIL and FIL. Well you have a real problem and gun toting ones at that. You better buy a bigger gun than there’s with an open carry license to go with it. Geez.
