Unbelieveable!!! USPS rant!!! :(

Anything lumpy in a regular paper envelope is likely to snag in the machine. I had someone try to send me some metal arrow tips in a regular envelope one time.

I did get the envelope. Torn up. The tips never stood a chance of making it here. Can't blame the USPS or the kid that sent them (he didn't know any better).

When hubby was in Cuba he made a shell braclet for me and stuck it in an envelope and sent it on; it jammed the machine, crushed the braclet and hubby recieved a note telling him sorry and don't send stuff like that in reg. mail.

Maybe someone thought it was a ring and took it.
I've had birthday cards opened and the gift card taken out.
I had a coconut bra sent from Hawaii from a friend, (in one of those small one price envelopes=very sturdy)
and someone at the post office took it upon themselves to stick their finger in there behind the
coconut to see if there was any good Hawaiian contraband in there. They came up empty handed.
Just say'in, those envelopes are hard to pierce.

Not that hard. I've gotten a lot of torn up envelopes of that nature over the years. I've had them torn half to shreds by equipment malfunctions...

My boss and I used to mail sets of keys back and forth quite often. We had to use bubble padded envelopes. A couple of years ago, I needed keys sent from TN to SC- the guy put them in a regular envelope, not even taped to a card- naturally, the machine chewed it up and spit it out, and the few keys that did make it were the ones that didn't fit the locks!

Anything 3 dimensional needs to be in a padded envelope or parcel, I thought it was required, but maybe not.

Bummer about the legband.

edit for sticky keyboard.
