Under construction

Here are some pics of our chicken run construction. It is 9m (30ft) x 3m (10ft) x 2.1m high (~7ft). It has a coop for roosting at one end (on the sleeper base). The run has access doors at both ends and we are planning double gates as well so we can get in with a wheelbarrow.

The chookies also have an area about 80- 100sqm (? 800sq foot) that runs through some rough garden with trees and shrubs for fossicking and hiding.

They've been watching all the activities very intently so hopefully they'll enjoy it!

This is all because I was going to get '3 chickens' and I ended up with 15! They are between 7 and 10 weeks old (unsexed) so I am hoping to end up with 10 or so.

That is amazing! Well done. I wish I had that much room for my chooks. They should be very happy.

By the way, welcome to chicken math!! I started off with 4, now have 12!!

That looks fabulous! Yep chicken math is a killer! I started with 3 less than a year ago and now have 18

Here us an update - everything in place and the chickens are in! It just needs the last bit of roofing done, and some deeper mulch/litter in the run. They all seem very happy
