Understanding Chicken Language

How interesting and helpful!
I don't have chickens so I can't do that. I am trying to learn their language without them so I can understand what my chicks are saying when I have them.

My neighbors have chickens but I rairly visit them. The last time I did I trained one of the two.

What did you train it?

To peck a small yellow disc. I used a dog clicker tied to a measuring cup. It works really well if you can get the chicken to peck the disc. I added a couple of different colored discs, but the chicken only pecked the yellow disc.
