GOOD POINT!
I agree it is very important to be mindful of how others view the value of the dollar... If foreign holders feel the should sell. We can be in deep do do....
One can not argue that the current administration is much more popular with world leaders/other countries than the previous war mongering lone cowboy was .

Interesting, I think I am going to start tracking the value of the dollar against who is in office.

There is only one reason that foreign dollar holders do not dum them is because despite knowing full well that the USD is not worth the paper it is printed on, if it really tanks we will take everyone with us.

So they keep buying our debt and slowly they are working their way into other forms of currency or a bag of currencies.....

Well I don't know where you got your numbers and you don't mention where they came from but to put $1.8 billion in perspective ... 3 days in Iraq.

I hear these # on a news Radio at work..not sure who made the comments.....no matter the cost ,is the trip needed. Myself I would think you wouldn't want to Risk Our President in that area of the World in these times..of war.

My thoughts.....

Does he REALLY, I mean REALLY have to go? Does he KNOWS that we are broke? Has he made any effort in saving money at all while he was in the White House? I know gardening was one of the savings but anything else?

Who makes the decision for him to take these trips?

Does he know that we are upset about him taking overseas trips?

We're not at war with India. We're not even at war with Pakistan. Saying Obama shouldn't go to India right now makes as much since as saying he shouldn't go to England.

Sometimes the President needs to travel. To meet with foreign leaders, on goodwill missions...these are things that help our country even if they aren't 'by the book' required of the president.

Overseas trips are part of his job. He is going to the G20 summit as well as India. I don't object to the actual trip at all. I do object to what he is trying to accomplish in India though.

What war? India is a up and coming first world Nuclear Nation.?
Heck call tech support for half? the "American" phone / computer /technology companies... You will be speaking to a very knowledgeable Indian, ready to help you in near perfect English, talking to you from India!
India is not the middle east..
Yes India and Pakistan have been at "war" (relatively peaceful and civil) over the Kashmir region for a very very very long time. I commend both Nuclear nations for keeping their cool on that one..

It does not matter what party you think is right -- this will explain a good chunk of how we got into - not the financial mess - but the malaise of our culture that made it possible..........

Thanks I watched part 1... so far... I do enjoy looking seeing an international perspective..
