Anyone else going?

I plan to show a bantam faverolle Pullet and cockerel. I think that is all I have that is in good feather. If I can get her to settle down I may show a Cream Light Brown Dutch pullet. Her legs are longer then I would like, but other then that she is nice.

This is the largest of the NC shows. At least that is the norm. The outside area is always a buzz with buyers and sellers. Most sellers sell out quickly.

I will also have a load of 3 week old Buff Orpington and Black Australorp Pullets. These are hatchery birds that will make great layers or pets. At 3 weeks old and sexed, I sell them for $4 each. Minimum purchase is 2. I will have boxes and hot-hands for safe/warm travel to new homes.

Yes, we'll be there. Don't know what we'll be bringing as most of ours feathers have taken a toll in this harsh cold. Should have a couple bantam wyandottes and a few calls.

Inside will be the show. Outside will be lots of sellers setup selling all kinds of birds. Not to mention a crowd of buyers. This is normally the largest of the NC shows.

Concessions are in the lower building and large fowl(turkeys, geese, large ducks, and loud guineas) will be in the back barn.

I will be there selling quite a few 3.5 week old pullets that will eventually be layers. I plan to show a pair of Faverolle bantams, but need a few more days to decide.

So, if you expect a crowd, when would be the best time to be there if my friend and I are casual chicken-keepers and have never been to a show? We want to check out the vendors and we also want to see the show birds. Is it like the State Fair where the judges go from cage to cage?

The judging starts at 9 am. The judges move from cage to cage. While they are on one isle it will be roped off. Enjoy the rest until that section is reopened.

Most birds will be in the building for the show by 8-8:30. Sellers start setting up around dawn to 7am. If you are looking for deals be there early or by 8am at the latest. If you don't want to deal with extreme temptation wait till after 10am. Most good deals will be snapped up by then.

Do you know how the outside selling part works? I have several nice chicks I would love to take! I know I probably need to call but its almost 1am and I cant call now! lol!

Made up my mind that I'm going, but I'm not showing this time. I'm bringing some to sell and just socialize this time.
