Unknown Baby Bird found in Chicken Pen?

My husband found this baby in our chicken pen. We have a lot of trees around our house, but this little doesn't match up with any of the birds we see! Any ideas would be appreciated! Thank you! View attachment 2329996View attachment 2329997
For reference...my husband has very large hands so this is not a tiny bird!

This is our pen area! It's 110'x50' I check it routinely, I did have one hen escape & lay eggs, but we found them before she became broody...we have now fixed the fencing so she can't get out! I could have missed something, but I would be really surprised, especially since it was left alone while my flock went into the coop! Stranger things have happened!

Love your enclosure!! Could your husband have secretly wanted a turkey...and miraculously "found" one that needed adoption?

I'm sad to say that the baby didn't make, my husband thought it wasn't looking good last night! He couldn't get it to eat, although it did have a little water. It must have been on its own longer than we suspected & possibly some internal injuries we couldn't see! Thank you for all of the input, it is very much appreciated!

Bummer! I was really hoping the little guy would make it and show us what it truly was! Sorry for your loss, Im sure hubby did all he could to help it
