UNPOPULAR OPINIONS! 🥴

It’s been proven that turning eggs less yields a lower hatch rate.

I have proven that wrong to my own satisfaction.

I pay a lot for feed and I’m not about to just let any old predator come swipe them. That’s just stupid.

Seems like if a hawk can so easily swipe your birds, its your birds, not you, letting it happen. My birds don't let it happen.

Unpopular opinion here. I don't see why some people get so offended when someone says that game birds aren't the best thing since fire.

Sure, they're neat and useful, but my phoenixes are just as good as a lot of people's game birds and they don't have the problem of killing every other male they see

Plus they're prettier

You’re a bit full of yourself don’t ya think? If one of my birds gets swiped, it is my fault. Either I chose to let them out or the pen wasn’t good enough. Not their fault one bit. They are prey.

Refuting your challenge to my opinions isn't being full of myself. I'm simply not backing down when challenged. You didn't have to engage me. But something I said struck a nerve and you couldn't help yourself.

Which is my point and my goal. What's wrong with your birds that they can't outwit a hawk? Don't you know historically that many chickens could avoid hawks in a barnyard or semi-feral setting? How and why has your chickens devolved so quickly that they no longer can within one human lifetime? Those are the questions no one seems to want to ask and the only way to get people to actually think critically about the issue of chicken survivability is to burst their bubbles a little bit. I'm not even sure people even know to ask the questions. I think many current chicken keepers are ignorant of the fact that its not normal for chickens to be so predator vulnerable or not be able to mostly take care of themselves in the farmyard.

Hawks are predators. They stalk, seek, strike. Thinking a prey animal could possibly outwit a predator 100% of time is foolish.
