I'm hoping the BYC community can help me figure this out.
I have a three day old Cuckoo Maran chick that has an unusual skin flap? As well as bare skin directly adjacent to the skin flap. See attached pics.
Chick seems ok. Seems to be eating and drinking. The bare skin isn't red, bleeding, or irritated, it just has no feathers. I noticed it yesterday. The chick also has a bit of pasty butt going on, so I was gently washing that off when I noticed the spot. It seems larger today? But I didn't handle the chicks as much yesterday, so I might be wrong.
No other chicks seem to have it.
Any ideas?
