My one hens squawks all night... it’s 1 o’clock in the morning and she’s making a constant squawking sound. Is this normal? She is locked up safe and tight inside her coop there’s no predators around and it’s dark. And she is the only one out of the 3 that started laying eggs. It’s been one week now.

She usually pops out an egg around 3-4 pm... every other day.
She doesn’t make the same constant squawk throughout the day only at night when we put her to bed .
She's probably singing the egg song... Have you checked on her?
She it’s fine during the day it’s just at night squawks consistently .

Have you checked in the coop for any mites hiding under the roost or anything? That's so weird it's only at night.

When does she sleep?

Is there such a thing as A Chicken being Afraid of the Dark? Maybe a Night Light, like for children, in the Coop would help? I've seen a variety of unexpected behaviors these last 15 weeks. One of our girls loves to cuddle up and sleep with our Pit/Boxer or Beagles!...JJ
That's adorable.

That is adorable... we used to have a patio light on but I turned it off and made it darker thinking that the light was bothering her. I’ll check for mites tomorrow morning when I could see better but I haven't notice anything. I thought it was more of just a labor thing. was just wondering if they did the “labor song” at night. The coop is really hot and I was letting them sleep on their purchases outside the coop but I was told to move them up in there until they get used to it and went up on their own. so now I shut the door and lock them in. I ended up putting a frozen water bottle in there to keep it a little bit cooler.

Something in or on top of your coop like mice or neighbors cat? Sounds like she is trying to tell you something. I say this because I have one who is my little watch dog. Sometimes it takes me a bit to figure out what she is trying to tell me but she only squawks for a reason... she also likes to crow lol.
