Update: crop surgery with graphic photos

Pics
I bought a Surgical Instrument Kit for minor surgery from Sportsman's Guide (1-800-888-3066). The kit included hemostats (straight and curved), scissors, combination pen light and pen, scapel, scapel blades, probe, tweezers, 5-0 silk, and etc. I have included the phone number if anyone wants to order a catalog.

Another place to find these instruments is at a Gunshow. Find the military tables this is where the instruments are available.

LOL , These are all the things I "POCKETED" from working in the hospital. Didn't know one day I would own chickens and use these on "chickens"! Hope I never have to go into my stash....

Hello Everyone! Sorry for the pause in posting her recovery, ive been tending to her around the clock her incision still looks very good! And the first couple days after surgery she was starting to eat quite a bit she had a couple poo's that were looking a bit closer to normal. But she doesn't seem to be progressing to much her appetite is very small I have been hand feeding her. She has still been drinking a lot of water. @azygous I was thinking about giving her an antibiotic just as a precaution because I don't think she is progressing enough and worry about an infection, I remembered that I do have oral Baytril on hand it was for my rabbit does anyone know the dose for baytril for chickens?. I am still giving her miconazole. I will post a picture of her right now, she seems tired which I am sure is normal to some degree after going through what she went through, but we are on day 4 now post op. Im going to bring her sister in for a visit today. Also @azygous would you still recommend me to offer her regular feed today? Thanks everyone so much! Im happy to see so many people are adding a little surgery kit to there chicken supplies :hugs:thumbsup
