*Update*Help somthing atacked Big P(NEW Pics pg9)

I am sorry, but I don't have much to add for assistance. I did want to say good job in taking such good care of her. The after picture shows a very clean sutured wound. It is difficult to see how much skin is open yet, but from what I can see I think it will be ok. I have seen some very open flesh wounds completely heal on their own with minimal treatment (of course, her crop surgery was a must). Hopefully someone with more wound experience stops in with more advice. I will be thinking of her and wish her a quick recovery.

*steri-strips would be great-- outside on the skin-- but we've gotta replace the string on the inner crop before that; and with something sterile!!! SILK CAN BE STERILIZED . . . I THINK..

ive just been putting neosporin on her. I was home alone for most of the day today so i let her run around inside. My grandma came home and flipped, she bought had a heart attack,,lol Ihave liquid bandage stuff so i could use that. Do you think i should take out the crop stitches or is it to soon?

I think it looks good just let it heal and then take stitches out in a few more days after the skin is stuck together---in the meantime go to a vet and buy eye drop medication for infections in dogs eyes. First flush with sterile saline solution .Use this to keep the area moist and to heal. This is what the vet gave me after my dog attacked a pigeon. just drip abit over the wound 3 times a day. greasy ointment isnt the best for a bird. because the bird needs its feathers to be free from grease to stay warm and by the bird cleaning the ointment with its beak will probablty not be good. At the same time I would give the bird an antibiotic in its water. Get what you can try aureomycin. make sure wound doesnt get pussy or reddish inflamed. Things look good now. .

EDIT: If you cant get eye drop medicine at vet (~$10) buy Refresh eye drops at Walmart (the ones that have no preservatives in them for EXTRA dry eyes) and use that to put on the wound. I would not take the stitches out.

If it gets red and pussy post immediately-----and in about a week or so you will have to get her some stonyfield yogurt but not now
