Update NEW PICS ON 10/11/09~COME LQQK -The baby is HERE - WOOO HOOO!!

May your delivery be as fast and easy as mine. Got the hospital at 11:47, had lunch with the Dr. found out I was in labor, almost painless! Went up for exam, Steven was born at 1:23, less than two hours after I got to the hospital. Super quick, very little pain, instant baby!

I AGREE! I know you're excited but do try to get as much rest as you can. When labor starts, it starts, and it won't stop even if you're exhausted. So sleep woman, sleep!

Goodness yes. I ended up having a c-section with my second, after 22 hours of labor & two hours of pushing, on two hours of sleep. Long story. Suffice it to say my daughter had a mind of her own before she ever saw the light of day. Lack of sleep does nasty things to you, including wrecking your pain tolerance. Sleep sleep sleep while you can!
And keep something on your stomach too--food is your friend until you're actually in labor. Good luck and may you have a great story to tell with a wonderful ending!

I was referring to slightly scraping the membranes when you are 3 or 4 CM . Alot of times they have to rupture your membranes before baby is born , unless they pop on their own .

Yep, that is what he did... in his office during a routine exam when I nearly due with my 3rd baby. HURT LIKE THE DICKENS! With my 4th and last baby I told my midwife, "NO MEMBRANE STRIPPING ALLOWED!"

Seriously, it only caused false labor with me. The L&D nurse at the hospital said she hated it when doctors do that because most of the time it only it does not bring the baby any earlier, just causes mom to be very hopeful and then very disappointed to find out it was only false labor. I remember my disappointment well.

I would of been so mad, like you !!! They should at least tell you what they are doing !!!

They SLIGHTLY scrapped my daughter's membranes right before the dr. sent her to the hospital ..... she was 4 CM. and she had NO pain and NO discomfort from him doing that to her . Less than 2 hours later we had the baby ....

Yes, will be going to be in about 15 mins !!!

Thanks everyone for you help/advise
