my DD was 8.7 pounds and breastfed for YEARS! she's 5 now and still wakes at night. (luckily she now comes to me in the middle of the night, but still)

Oh... well maybe it was the nightly Benadryl then.

JUST KIDDING!!!!!

A friend of mine's pediatrician actually told her to use Benadryl for 10 days in a row ( son was 12 months old though ) and that worked for her. I just never liked the idea of "drugging" them. Although it sounded like a great idea after 6 or so years of not sleeping.

I guess some people are lucky! I hope luck with sleep for you!

All 5 were less than 3 hours ?? OMG !!! I'm going to remember this when im in labor for 10+ hours, LOL !!!

I think my title should be"hoping to pop soon" LOL !!!!

Yep! I was very blessed!

The thing you need to remember most when you are in labor, is that you have to "let" your body do the work. If you start freaking out and fight against the pain, you will never progress. Once you start to think you can't handle the pain, the best thing to do is ask for an epidural. I had one with my last baby and it was WONDERFUL!!! If you don't want one, then that's okay also. You just need to remember to try and relax and let your body work. That is where most people run into the long labors. It is because they don't relax and fight it. I'm sure you've heard people's stories about how they were in labor for hours and wouldn't progress and then once they got and epidural, things started moving quickly. It's because they fought against the pain and wouldn't relax. Once my contractions started, I would always go to a happy place in my mind, like the beach! I put my focus elsewhere and it worked!

Best of luck to you and I hope your new little package will arrive soon!

Don't sweat it!! I was induced, two epidurals DIDN'T take, in labor for 2 hours, pushed twice and the doctor almost didn't make it in time. Even after all that, the first words out of my mouth to DH was, "that wasn't too bad, I could do that twelve more times"!! He was still a little pale from all the goings on and just gave me a horrible look. LOL!!

I've gone through labor once. For a first time labor 12 hrs wasn't that bad. I didn't really have a set game plan as far as pain meds and played it by ear. At 9hrs in I wanted the epidural

. Unfortunately it did not help me much (neither does novacaine at the dentist) and I felt most of it anyway.
I had done all of the classes with DH, read countless books & magazines however the whole experience was much more emotional than I was prepared for. It was the scariest most wonderful experience of my life. Enjoy every second, as you mentioned how time flew since you found out you were pregnant, it goes just as fast and before you know it you'll be crying at the bus stop!
Good luck to you, here's wishing you an easy delivery, speedy recovery and a healthy baby
