Update NEW PICS ON 10/11/09~COME LQQK -The baby is HERE - WOOO HOOO!!

I too hope she and baby are doing ok.

I mean no offense here to everyone, but if I had just had a baby with a long labor and then a C-section and infection I think I'd be at home recuperating and enjoying getting to know my newborn. I don't think as much I enjoy BYC it would be very high on my priority list right now.

No , I have to agree . BUT , we are going by what she told us that she would stay in contact since she knew we would be anxiously waiting to know that she and the baby was home safe and sound . Besides , she does have a lap top and it does get boring when you trying to recuperate.

I will probably unsubscribe as I am waiting for news but the constant speculation is to hard for me to follow and keep abreast.

I am working on the quilt for the baby so I will check in now and again to see if she has been on.

IM sure when the situation warrants , she will give us all an update.

Sorry it's been so long !!!! I have been VERY sick, just starting to feel a little better within the last few days... I still have a looonnnggg road to go till I'm 100% but I am working my way there.... I am home now, hubby has been driving me to the hospital everyday to get treatment (sometimes twice a day depending on how sick I am that day)

It's a very long story about what happened, I'll write a brief story about it.....

After laboring for 25+ hours and then having a c-section my body developed an infection some where, the docs knew I had an infection but couldn't figure out where it was, well... after a week of them trying to figure it out (and after the infection spread into my blood) they/I/we figured out it was coming from my c-section cut so I had to be cut back open and it had to be drained.... they decided the only way it would heal would be from the inside out and started putting wet to dry packs in there (OMG, want to talk about pain... twice a day hubby has to pack my cut with wet gauze, its the most painful thing I have ever felt) They have a pump that they will be installing tomorrow so that will be good (a pump will be hooked up to my cut with a foam stuff inside my cut so that will drain it, so I wont have to be stuffed twice a day anymore, only every other day they will have to change this)

I also have a picc line IV in my arm so I can give myself anti's at home (had to get this so I could come home) A picc line IV is an IV that can stay in your body for up to a year it has a line that runs right into a major vein near your heart..

There is soooo much more I wish I could explain it all.... Like I said above I'm starting to feel better but still have a long way to go... It could be 6-8 weeks before I get 100% better !!!

Baby is doing good, he's a great baby... I know I keep saying this but I will post pics soon !!! Sorry it's so hard to remember it all.... also hard to find a free min to do anything !!

Hubby hasn't been able to go back to work yet b/c the baby and I take up all his time (I don't know what I would do without him), as you can imagine money is REAL tight right now..... He got his last paycheck last week so I hope we can make it by in till he can get back to work.... It could still be a few weeks till I can be by myself....... This stinks !!!

I cant wait till this is over and I'm better so we can have a normal life with the baby !!!

Again, thanks EVERYONE for caring about us and the warm wishes

Oh Honey !!! I am so sorry this happened to you . Wonde r WHY they did not put you a drain tube below you incision when they stitched or stapled you up afte rht ec-section , they sure put me one to drain out any and all .. ALSO they always put me on antibotics to avoid infection from starting .

I had the same thing happened to me after I ruptured my appendix and lower intestant . HEAL from the inside out ... Trust me , I know exactly what you are going thru . ONLY thing is with me , when I ruptured gangreen had already set in and I was one sick puppy ..... took 7 weeks for cut to close up .. BUT surgeron's told me to pour saline inside the cut to keep it clean and germ free... AND I had no problems .,... hubby had to clean it with saline and pack it 3 times a day ....

Do you have family OR friends that live near by that could help out so your hubby could go back to work . THANK GOD I Had my Mother that always helped me .

I hope you feel better real soon ...

Sorry your going through this. I have a niece that had a staph infection set in her c-section incision and she had to heal from the inside out too. Nasty.

Hope you start feeling better soon!

I figured that is what happened. And was VERY worried.
Please keep up with the treatments and such and let the docs know if ANYTHING changes. You get a tingle, or numbness and let them KNOW ASAP. Headache. Anything.

The wet to dry packs suck. I had a VN(visiting nurse) come to the house three times a day for over a month to change the packing on my incision. Got down to twice a day, then once. Til they finally said I was ok. But it was a long road to recovery. I had a IV left in my hand for drugs and IV drips. Which at that point was old hat for me since I had one for most of my pregnancy as well.

Hang in there. Let people help you. But please be aware of everything your body is telling you.

I had a c section after 4 days of labor but was lucky there was no infection. You husband sounds like a saint, your very lucky. Would your insurance cover a visiting nurse to help out? Maybe a family member or neighbor. Would your husbands co allow him to go in part time. Best of luck to you. Enjoy your little one.
