Been working with the rooster ever since my last post. I removed the black spots on his feet and found infection and kernels beneath, and removed most of what I could- but I am stumped with the current one. It is on the top of his back toe, and has swollen quite oddly(and became quite hard in the process), and even after the removal I have not managed to get a kernel or much infection out. It is hurting him quite badly, and I hope someone can tell me where I need to go from this point.

I have three pictures of the toe, you can(somewhat) see the nail that remains pushed off to the side. This was just a black scab until recently, and this is after soaking it for 25 minutes in epson salt. I've tried massaging, pushing and some prodding in the area to try and get some relief, with no luck so far.

Also just adding this: My mother brought me some 'Blue Lotion' she uses for her horses and dogs for injuries. She said I should clean it and apply it, and that should help. But, if the kernel is still inside, I worry it won't do its job. If it is even safe to use on the rooster. I've heard of blukote being used, but i'm not sure if this is the same thing.
