Update on chicks PG 4

Okay, so I got the sulmet, but the question is whether or not I got the right stuff. This stuff says for use in swine only. Is it the right stuff for chicks???

Wow, never thought of that!!! Thanks!!! I'll leave everyone alone now!!! Wish me luck!!! P.S. I take it that it doesn't matter that it says for use in swine only??? Do I just follow the directions, or are there other specs for poultry dosage???

The Sulmet 12.5% Drinking Water Solution would be best as it is labeled for chickens. The Aureomycin Sulmet Powder is labeled for swine only..Im showing two different dosages for poultry with the Aureomycin/ Sulmet...One is 1 teaspoon per gallon of water 5 to 7 days and the other is 1 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water for two days then 3/4 teaspoon per gallon of water for 4 additional days

so this is a type that can be used for chickens?? I found out that there's a vet about 15 miles from me that has CORID amprolium but I can't get it until tomorrow evening. Do you think I should just wait???

amprollium is preferred for chicks and sulmet for adults... not syaing you HAVE to use it for chicks just that it is preferred...if you have chicks/birds seriously ill 24 hours can make a huge difference/...
Please post the EXACT product (name and manufactureer etc) you have at this moment.

CJEAN..... mine has poultry instructions a little further down on the bottle. If its the 12.5% it says 2 tablespoons per gal. I dont know if that helps

It does not say what percentage it is....all it says is for oral veterinary use in swine only....

Mine does not say that anywhere and it also had directions and usages for poultry on 2 places on the bottle. I would say to wait, better safe than sorry

I clicked on the tecnical specifcations at the TSC link you gave but it did not list the ingredients so went to antoher site and found what looks to be the exact same product/same packaging
which indicates it is not for cocci (I assume this is what you bought it for?)
