Update on My homemade cooler-bator. **PICTURES**

I added water to it last night and it went from 20% humidity to 50%. I think I might add sponges to get to the desired 70%. I am wanting to use it as a hatcher any ways.

Good job on the cooler-bator. My husband made one for me and I had a tough time keeping temps in a safe range. Ended up swapping out the light bulb for something with less wattage and used it as an initial brooder for the first few days after hatch. Worked great for that but the chicks grew out of it very quickly.

I use the 75 watt bulb, or 60 watt.

Good job on the cooler-bator.

Thanks!

Yeah, I tried to brood quail in mine, and boy are they some stinky little birds. I didn't think something so small could smell so bad.
