UPDATED- PICS>>> I left the Auto Turner Off by accident-

Best of luck to you. You just reminded me that I need to turn the turner off that I use while collecting eggs to set. I set eggs last night and forgot to unplug it.

Buster,

Good luck to you. I expected some to pip already but I guess not. We'll se how it goes.

My next dilemma is the batch of duck eggs. Some are from Muscovies and I don't know which ones. I'm hopefull I'll be able to tell in a couple of days which ones to keep turning and which ones to move to the hatcher.

There will be some that hatch I'm sure. I'll bet after this experience you will double check everything and nothing like this will ever happen again.

I did that. Moved the bator, and forgot to plug the turner back in and didn't realize it until days later. I always managed to get hatches though.

Hang in there! Keep us posted!

Definately double checking from now on. Still have not heard a chirp. But I'll try and listen through the door after work this evening.

Its surprisingly easy to forget one thing or the other especially when you get distracted. Anyway, I'm setting up the brooder in anticipation. We'll see.

Well I had to take a quick look. One hatched and another 1 or 2 pipped. So far so good.

OK, I had 44 chicken eggs to start. 11 failed to develop. Of the remaining 33, 24 hatched so far. 2 died. They were weak and would flip backwards. I had sectioned them off but when I went back to them, they were on their backs dead. Another one has similar behavior but is doing better after giving him some trivisol. All 3 happen to be RIRs. I had RIR 14 eggs and 14 BO eggs from the same shippment. I have 11 BO chicks right now and 3 live RIR. Interesting. Nine more eggs to go. We'll see how they do.
