Updated Project Lavender Orp pics - they're growing nicely

Hinkjc,

I have only one lavender bird. What color would you breed it to in order to produce more lavenders? I'm guessing black?

Im not hinkjc but you would need to breed it to black. Then breed the offspring back to a lavender bird to produce visually lavender birds. Hinkjc can probablly give a better explanation.

It's a EE and came from a Brown Red rooster (ER based) and a white hen. Go figure. I guess the hen had recessive white masking black and lavender. All of the chicks frm this cross were black or black and white except the one lavender chick. I may want to work on lavender EE's.

Hhhmmm.... I LOVE blue birds! Unfortunately, my coop is full. Maybe in a couple years, I can visit my parents (in PA) and come raid your henhouse, Jodie! Or you can just sneak me a nice project bird that doesn't work out (I'm not showing, I just like pretty birds!), since there's virtually no danger of frostbite here! Lovely color, whatever you care to call it.
