Uploading Photos

Sorry my friend, it looks to be something isolated to your unique system or connection to our servers. We've got literally hundreds of people loading thousands of images every week, and we're just not seeing other reports. Additionally, we can't duplicate the issue regardless of what we do.
It seems my photo timeout or strike-through is more closely tied to my isp DSL speed drop? Since my latest call with "tech support" they reset everything on their end again for the umpteenth time and it's been a bit more stable for download speeds but, uploads are still a trickle here.....

3 different speedtest sites keep showing the up speeds ~20-40% of what it should be.....

I wrote a Python program and was able up upload with PyQt5 QtWebEngineCore which uses Chrome as the back end so I tried chrome again and upload worked...

I'll be honest, it's frustrating to spend hours trying to solve a problem when it's caused by someone blocking ads.

Please either whitelist your ad blocker for BYC or purchase (win/earn) a Premium Feather Membership (PFM)

Maintaining a site this big is both time consuming & expensive, and it feels disrespectful when people use our free services and request support, but then block our ability to maintain a free service.

So, the ad-blocker still interferes with the site / JS even when a site is whitelisted?

Either way, thank you for whitelisting BYC! We work very hard to make sure the ads aren't "over the top" and we even filter out a LOT of categories (that would be very high in $$) because it's important to us that our members have a good experience.

As regarding my end.
1) i don't use adblockers.
2) apps and OS's are all up to date
3) the last 3 weeks now are still really ugly DSL numbers. Last 72hrs is just crazy data points.
^load max is supposed to stay at 0.570 MB/s
This morning flux was 0.20 - 0.32 MB/s
Last night was 56KB/s - 0.217 MB/s (after I rebooted the modem) then it dropped to ~0.17-18 MB/s
Yesterday morning flux 0.38 - 0.14 MB/s

Downloads have been flux too 2.00 - 3.2MB/s but, seems to stay in the 2.20-2.80 MB/s range.....

I cropped a couple pics down about 50% original size and finally got the upload to happen on my update to the coop build thread just a wee bit ago....

As an update:
Setting browser timeout to 600 has only allowed my wife to upload emails with a PDF attached.... Even my cropped pics are now failing to upload. (Shrugs)

DSL ^speeds 0.115 - 0.384 MB/s
DSL down speeds 1.7 - 2.8 MB/s
Attinuation ~33 db & ~57db (respectively)
Noise ~9.5db both
