UPS Rant, It makes me feel terrible!!!*UPDATE*

Well if the driver would have read the numbers it wouldn't have happened. So I wonder exactly how many packages are "delivered" and marked as ok in the system, only to have them be at the wrong house. With no record of WHICH house, because the driver thought he had it right the first time.

Several years ago I had ordered some Christmas presents and they were on backorder, so were going to get there only a few days early. On the day they were to come, no box. Checked online and it said delivered. Called, because I was home all day, it's not here. They called the driver who called me and told me he did deliver it and put it by the door and saw a man picking it up as he drove off. Told him there was no man here (DH was deployed) so could he come show me where? He came back and I met him outside, where he promptly knew he'd screwed up because I wasn't standing in the yard where he delivered it, although he did mark it in his scanner as having been delivered to the right house. Our house numbers there were literally next to the front door (military housing). He took it to the neighbor's house. Her boyfriend picked it up and took it in their house, apparently. Driver went over there and knocked and they lied and told him they didn't have my box. He told them he saw the man pick it up but they still lied. Their policy? Pretty much nothing, said they won't call the police even though they know they stole it. Told me they'd submit it as lost and the sender would be refunded and would either refund me or send me replacements.....which would not arrive in time for Christmas, so I was the one out of luck.

All because the driver didn't verify the address on the house with the address on the box.

We're pretty lucky 'cause our driver has been on the route for so long that he only needs to see the name on the package to know where it goes. Had a new driver one day that couldn't even find our house, then got scared because we have a longgggg driveway and ended up leaving the package at the neighbor's house.

We have a great UPS driver. But when he has a day off

We have found our packages in our pick-up beds. One time sitting on the motor of an old car my SIL was tinkering with. Sitting on the edge of the property by the street.

I usually know when something is coming and I have to search our property.

So sorry this happened to you I do hate that people don't take pride in doing a good job. They just do what ever drop the package off and leave don't check anything. I would rather have to sign for it. That way that the person who signs can't say they didn't get the package.

what do you get when you cross fed ex and ups????? fed up!!!! and yes at this point i am too, last summer. after a lot of hunting around on e bay i finally found a brand new saddle that i have been dying for, thought i had lost the bid on the saddle and went on to the next one.....it turned out by the end of the day i had won both of them.
the first saddle came from mass, the box was held together by duct tape and crushed with a sturrip hanging out, i mean it really looked like some one used it to play foot ball with ....that was left out in my front door, the ups guy didn't bother to knock...just left it there. ( i have a nieghbour who loves to steel thing's)....i personaly called and left a message for the seller to tell him what condition the box was when it got here, and also had a few choice words with UPS......never herd back from the seller......turned out to be a first time seller on ebay, but still if UPS had any sense they would of not shipped the box as is..... next day we recieved the second saddle, the UPS guy was a polite as culd be and knocked on our door and handed it to us....and has done do ever since.

Dh ordered stuff and I am waiting for it. I wish they still had people sign for things. I got one of his packages, and you could pull the adapter right out of a hold in the package! That was the companies fault not delivery ofcourse.

I had a package come here addressed to the previous owners. I really despise them for covering up home problems, but I was nice and told the driver the package did not belong to me.
