URGENT-- frozen feet!

She's trying to move around a little, but her feet are obviously VERY sore.
My biggest concern is she is REALLY stressed. Should I bring her sister in too? Would a buddy make her happier? The kennel is big enough to accommodate 2 of them for a few days at least, but if Peri needs to be in longer it might be difficult managing a healthy bird confined to such a small area...View attachment 1649698

Fred is SO sad about her kennel.

Your hen is beautiful! Great advice being posted on this thread, I really hope all goes well for your girl!

Vet thinks that the one really nasty foot is surface damage only, and I should keep up my soaking and antibiotic ointment!
That's great news!
The other foot will likely loose all of the toes, but it looks as good as expected.
I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm glad it's toes and not feet or legs or worse.

Excellent news from the vet.

Loved learning about wet and dry gangrene.
There is also just dead tissue called eschar without bacterial involvement in that. Blood flow ends in the tissues and they blacken before the body sloughs them. Most burn centers remove them to allow oxygen to the granulating tissues underneath. This is called debridement. I have let mother nature do her thing naturally debriding when it comes to full thickness combs, wattles, and toes on chickens . :D

You are doing great with them. Good job! Could have been much worse.

Here's a quick one just to prove they are all still alive!
