Urgent help, may be dry membrane

You leave it in the incubator for 24 hours to dry out. It helps with humidity in the incubator and it helps encourage the others to hatch as they hear it cheeping :D
Thankyou so much! cant wiat we will do it in a hour or so... How long after they hatch do they need food or water?

They dont need food and water for the first 24 hours while they dry out. They get their nourishment from the yolk sac that they absorbed between pipping and hatching out. :D

does it look ready to come out yet? still moving and chirping

Try to moisten the white membrane. Do you have coconut oil, if so, rub some of it on the membrane as it helps to keep the membrane moist for a long time. If you dont see blood, it is safe to remove some more of the shell but if there are veins, you should leave it but still moisten the membrane. Does that make sense?

Is vaseline ok?

I believe you can also use vaseline so yes, go ahead and use some. If you can try and remove shell so it can get its head out and then leave it to do the rest...

So do i just put it on the outside of the membrane? and how much... and where abouts should i take the shell of where the head is? and what do i do if it bleeds? Also Do you think its ready to come out? Sorry for the 272627 questions 😂 just don't want to hurt the poor thing!

:gigNo worries about the questions . My understanding is that you put it on the exposed membrane (white bits) and I would see if you can peel back any more shell and then put more vaseline on the membrane. Only pull back the membrane if there is no veins so no blood. if you do slowly and it does start to bleed, you can stop immediately. you can use flour or cornstarch to stem any small bleed
