Urgent help, may be dry membrane

:gigNo worries about the questions . My understanding is that you put it on the exposed membrane (white bits) and I would see if you can peel back any more shell and then put more vaseline on the membrane. Only pull back the membrane if there is no veins so no blood. if you do slowly and it does start to bleed, you can stop immediately. you can use flour or cornstarch to stem any small bleed
We are doing it now ! :fl:fl:D

I think that is what they mean by shrink wrapped . See if you can get the membrane off ... If you can see veins however, just use the vaseline on the membrane. If no veins then you can pull it back to see if you can free the head.

am i not meant to see any veins at all?

My understanding is that when the duck is ready to hatch, it has absorbed all the yolk and the veins have 'emptied' out... what are you seeing?

I would keep going the way you are, making the hole wider and wider but remember to put vaseline on and see if you can release the head.

Hello. I wanted to jump in with a picture of my little one in hopes of helping each other. I just took this pic a moment ago and while mine is a chicken rather than a duck, I'm in the same boat. She had pipped early with no progress. We are on day 22 and it's been 12 hours since I assisted. I've been applying coconut oil and she's active. There was a lot of veins when I first peeled back the shell so I stopped and wrapped her in a warm paper towel. I've been monitering all night. The veins have thinned quite a bit. To the point that I think in a few hours she may be ready but I'm just going to take it very slowly.
