URGENT HELP My hen just never got better after she layed the egg,what can I do?

Wow, the one we have here is pretty much 100% sugar with No nutritional value

I've only done a molasses flush, I'm not sure if an Epsom salt flush would be the same since the nutrition profile is different. However adding the calcium and potassium to it shouldn't be difficult. I did the flush first thing. My hen was also drinking alot and wasn't eating. She had eaten straw and was blocked up, once I did the molasses flush she started to get better and has more made a complete recovery.

@Eggcessive any advice?

I have looked around and mabye I can get some molasses tomorrow, all the shops are closed today but I’m 80% sure she also will be alive tomorrow how do you do the flush?

I used a children's syrup medicine dispenser, but a dropper could be used too. I opened her beak with my left hand and put a drop of the water/ molasses flush on her tongue, watched her swallow and then repeated. I did it until she fought me.

I only have it to get one time, and it wasn't the full dose. Get as much as you can in her and then gauge her progress the next day.

You're very welcome! This site is full of so much information, read up on the articles here and build up your "pharmacy". I make sure to have homeopathic and pharmaceutical remedies on hand if there's an emergency, because you know it happens at night or on the weekend or during the holidays .

She is definitely doing better, she had a goat poop explosion this morning but after that she ate a bit and drank some water, she is a very tame hen but hates being held so I know that when I can pick her up and there is no reaction she is not ok. But today when I picked her up she tried to fight back a little so that is very good
