URGENT!!! Please help...Hes got worse!!

Just a thought:
Although I agree heartily with Ruth that strong anti-rat action needs to be taken, please think carefully about the wildlife in your area before you use poison.
We never use poison around our place because we have many beautiful predators (hawks, owls, bobcats) that could potentially eat a poisoned rat or mouse and become ill.
But your circumstances are likely very different, and this may not be an issue for you.

You definitely need the help of an adult with this project!
Best of luck to you.

Thank you everyone...Ruth, do you know where we could get some of the bait stations you where talking about? Yes, our peas have 3 perches outside and two inside. What I men't by the yearlings stand on plastic, is that we have two old peachicks in a opposite pen to the rest of the peas, but they don't stand on soil. We put a large sheet of plastic underneath them with straw on it, so they can't eat anything from the ground that would make them ill.

Here's a link to the type of station we have. I like that it can be slid under pallets and mowers and things that sit low to the ground. There would probably be shipping issues of shipping bait to the U.K. but I'm sure if you check with your local pest control companies someone would have them there. They helped us immediately. We too have so many animals running around here loose that I couldn't use any type of trap and I couldn't risk them getting into the poison either. I did worry about my cats, dogs, or wildlife eating a dead rat or mouse they might find and I probably should have asked about what type of poison I was using but so far we haven't had any problems.

Hi I've been breeding peafowl over 23 years sounds like swollen eye. If you have a family vet call and ask if they carry Baytril 22.7 Milligram give him 2 to start right down the mouth be careful of his airway. Then Once in the moring one pill until swelling goes away. Hope that helps. This weather for everyone is creating lots of upper airway problems in birds. Hope that helps as always ask your vet. The drug is amazing and you will see results fast bird will feel good in about 2 days then probably a total of 5 days of medication needed.

X2, sounds like an infection and I agree time is of the essence as mentioned above. As others have said on other threads, doing an injection produces quicker results than administering oral antibiotics but the injection can be risky if you don't know how to do it safely.
