Urgently need help before it's too late!**IT IS SOUR CROP**

It's definatelly sour crop, i was scared to do it but i went ahead and tipped her upside down while massaging her crop and she vomited, i was letting her take a quick breather and then repeating the process, she vimited quite a lot, it did smell a bit.
So what do i do now?, how do i procced with treating her?

Keep her separated and give clean water. Make sure waterers get sterilized regularly. Other than the yogurt, only feed a proper layer ration, preferably crumbles or mash.

I have put her in a cage in my shed with yogurt mixed with chick crumbs and fresh water. How long do i keep her seperated and how will i know when she is better?

That's how I feed yogurt too. Glob it in and sprinkle feed on top.
Open her mouth and smell. If it's nasty wait.
I only say to seperate so you can feed her differently.
Hopefully someone that has had more birds with sour crop than I will chime in.

I just went through this a few weeks ago. My girl had sour crop and actually vomited herself twice. Felt like a water balloon hanging from her breast bone and it was almost the size of a tennis ball!

From all the advice on BYC here is what I did:

I seperated her from the rest of the girls (dog crate) and withheld food for 24 hours. I massaged the crop as often as I could, sometimes coming home on my lunch break. I made sure to push the crop downward to help push everything through. I did not vomit her on my own as I got very mixed reviews. I gave her water mixed with apple cider vinegar (make sure to use the raw unfiltered kind with "the mother" and only put it in a plastic waterer. I use Braggs and you can find it in organic section of supermarket) This will help kill the bad bacteria building up in her crop. On the second day I gave her yogurt, however my girl didn't much care for it so instead I mashed some layer with warm water and added some probiotic capsules (you can pick up at the pharmacy) to make sort of an "oatmeal" This will help get the good bacteria back into the crop to kill of the yeast and other nasties growing. I kept her seperated for almost 6 days, only allowing her to eat my "mash" and drink the acv water. Just be patient, it took nearly 2 weeks from start to finish.

Only give olive oil if the crop is impacted. I've read alot about this and the olive oil takes a long time to digest and may cause more difficulties.

Good luck with your girl!
