Use for vitamin b and e

Howdy all,
I have noticed alot of you have vitamin b and e in your chicken first aid kit. is it b12 and e? what do you use it for and what are the dosages???

Vitamin E and selenium are good for treating wry neck in chickens. Poultry vitamins containing multivitamins with BComplex can help with most vitamin deficiencies especially problems with feet and legs.

Wry neck is also called crook neck, torticolis, opisthonotos, and star gazing. The neck can be twisted, bent up or down, and they can also walk backwards or run in circles. It is a neurological symptom of certain diseases, such as Mareks disease, avian lymphoid leukosis, fowl cholera, Newcastles, and some respiratory diseases. It can also be a symptom of vitamin E deficiency.

i have a crook neck chick i have been giving him vit e and selenium i have also read that vit b helps too, but which one should i use or should i find poultry vitamins?

how can you tell if it is respiratory he has been breathing out of his mouth.. i have seen the vet rx at the feed store and it says its for respiratory wonder if i should try some of that and see if it will help im game for any thing at this point i dont want to lose him i have been giving him some yogurt and hard boiled yolk today and he chows down while i hold his head up..on the vitimin B complex does it matter if it have C in it ..all i can find is time release or with vitimin c in it??

The vitamin C shouldn't be a problem in the B Complex. Most feed stores or Tractor Supply have vitamins and electrolytes for chickens. You can also look for Poultry Nutri-drench or Poultry Cell, and the dosage for those two are 1 ml orally for every 3 pounds. Respiratory diseases in chickens usually can cause nasal or eye drainage, sneezing, gasping, or swelling around the eye. Open mouth breathing may occur if they are too hot. I hope that helps.

yes thank you very helpful i did find poultry cell at tractor supply you would of thought it was Christmas when i found it any way he was doing better yesterday now he is relapsing a little i think he might be to hot as you said i have to come up with something else for him to keep him seperated from the other chick he hatched with they are inseperatable she throws a fit ( squacks and tries to get out of the brooder to get to him) as long as she can see him and lay close to him she is fine. they are only about 1 month old so i havent put them in the coop yet now especially now that i know he has crook neck he is eating much better tho since he has been on poultry cell i dont know how much he weighs but i know hes not 3 lbs should i give him about half a ml ? i have been giving him 1 mil once a day too much?
