I would like to develop a sex-link using White Leghorns. I have available to cross with them, RIR, Cookoo Maran, Barred Rocks, and Prod. Reds. Are any of these birds feasible to mate with the leghorns to create sexlinked chicks? Chickenplucker

Here is a link to Missouri edu comparing both pullets & cockerel chicks.

The male needs to have rapid feathering (k+), such as leghorns & the female needs to be late feathering (K) such as RIR.

All female offspring will be only rapid feathering being k+/-. All male offspring will have inherited a late feathering gene from their mother & a rapid featering gene from their father & will be later feathering K/k+.
