So who here is familiar with the pyracantha bush? We have some along the fence in our back yard, and tonight I got to crawl four feet inside of one to retrieve the new turkey. Bad, Betty. Bad!

So things are crazy at my house with lots of family staying with us this weekend. I haven't had much time to read or post but here is the update so far on the hatching. Two little sweeties have hatched and still no pips from the others:( still hopeful though.

Lisa so sorry to hear that news. So much sadness for so many family and friends. Sad day. Labor always scares me a bit. It seems to me that more sad things happen around this time.

Kidasoto so sorry about your chicken. That same thing happen to my sister chicken last week.

Cynthia your baby chicks are pretty cute cute cute!

Sphinx thanks for the web cam I have to keep checking now that nothing is happenin in mine.

I think this hatch has been very stressful this time! I don't know if it is having a full house of guests or I swear the chickens came out breach. Is that possible? I had to help both of them. I really hope the others hatch. Well goodnight everyone be safe this holiday!

One of my little lavender ameraucanas hatched. I'm guessing around 5:30. It's chirping woke me out of a dead sleep, and given all the thunder we had, that's saying something.

So, far, just the two pips. I don't think the other two have pipped, but I haven't been shifting the incubator around because of the webcam.

Hattie, congrats on your babies! Were they shipped eggs? I sometimes think the damaged air cells in those makes hatching tougher. I'm sure having guests around it a lot of what made it stressful too.

auntie, shpinx, congrats on your new babies..I went to your cam Wendy while I was on fb..and saw that baby bouncing around in there. It looks black? Now that would be an olive egger right? I see more pips...babies..yaaay...

Getting more storm now, you guys north of us may be in for more too. Not as much as this morning though. Quite the light show, and noise! Our little Brody had to come out from under the covers to watch. His first thunder storm. It was loud, and it was lighting up the whole room And it poured! Now we are getting it again, but not as hard as earlier.
BTW..Brody..little dog. :)

I went for a bike ride this morning, so far I'm 0/2 on watching these guys hatch. One will definitely be an olive egger, the other will just be a darker brown layer.

They sure seem cute!!
