Utah!

Thought I would share some pictures. I wanted to get some pictures of Cotton and the little Polish I hatched anyway..always get carried away with taking pictures when I'm out there.

Here's my EE mix now, guess she is getting big!

My white..Cotton, and my blue spalsh..my blue splash
is getting close to laying.

I just cut those feathers around her eyes not that long ago.

There, she can see.

Nice body shape on this one. Too bad I don't show. I think
she would do well.

She told me to check this side out. :)

This is the Polish I hatched..love the coloring

What?! 4 spikes now??

This bird is a sweetheart!

One for Sasha..Elvis is fitting in better and better. You guys
may think that the feathering around the Silkies is a lot,
there is something about this poor girl, I throw treats right
in front of her, because she always misses out. She can't see!
Unless the wind is blowing her hair back. lol..

Of course within an hour of posting, I found a little lavender ameraucana egg out in the nest box. LOL

Oooh, those paint silkies will be fun, Cynthia. I can't wait to see how they turn out. I'm still sad you've had such rotten luck lately with incubating.

Lisa, the rooster is very, very dark for a BCM. His orange is mahogany instead, and he's much less colorful than my last FBCM. See how dark he is?

I think it'll be tough to overcome that dark breeding in him. But yeah, I'm really interested to see how they turn out. In my limited experience though, anything bred with a FBCM dad ends up looking 99% FBCM, and very little of the other breed comes through. the lav mix has feathered legs, but the wyandotte mix is clean legged.

Cynthia, love the pictures! I had a dream last night that someone left several Silkies in our yard, and I was going, "Oh no! How am I going to take care of all these?"

It's weird to look at that Exchequer and think that she could be laying soon. She seems so tiny. She's quite the character, though. Very smart and she loves walking around in the sprinkler.

That's interesting that so many peoples' chickens are slowing down with laying. I wonder if it has something to do with the decreasing daylight, or possibly the shift in temperatures? I sure hope my girls don't start doing that yet - they haven't even begun to lay!

I'd be in real trouble if they all went on strike right off the bat.

Thanks for the kind words on the video. I sure love my boys, and I love sharing all the fun chicken stuff with friends who understand it.

Love the pictures guys and love the videos Red!

Hattie, cute little egg, and cute little Honey!

Cynthia, LOVE the pics, thanks for sharing.

Sphinx, your boy is so pretty! I love him! That makes sense about the offspring all looking Marans-ish...seems like all my olive eggers do, and other crosses. My two "project marans" from Michelle are more orange through theneck and head, like the sex links look, I have no idea what she crossed with her Marans to get those. I like that your Potsie has feathered shanks, how cute!:love

She is so cute! I have a few bantam eggs in my bator that are viable right now, that are that small. Hoping they don't quit..that is pretty small, but so far so good, they have been in over a week.
