What a day...I found my bucks had been attacked by the dog last night....Lost one, one is iffy, hope he pulls through, and 2 more were injured.
Animal Control is taking care of things for me, They are going to pay for this one. Anyway I have been a mess, they were my babies.


In other news....I got my blue egg! Lisa can't wait for you to see it.

Oh man that is bad news! Did the pregnant ones get hurt/are they ok? I am glad you have animal control on it. Those people need to watcher their (darn) dog!

Congrats on the blue egg! Exciting! That means, Cynthia....yours and mine will start laying soon! Cynthia's looks ahead of mine, I think my girl will be another week or two at least. That is awesome you got the first one, Blu! What a mixed bag today, glad the blue egg brightened your day a little

Awww...this means I better get out there and capture Chloe to bring her to your place tonight.. She is hard to catch. I had to clip her butt feathers the other day, she was maaaad at me. I don't know what it is about the Wheatens, but all 5 of mine, (from two different sources too) grow the fluffiest butts ever! I have to clip the stuff under their bums because it grows so long. They get ucky dirty if I don't.

The Blue egg was a great find...I was soo excited. Totally made my day better!


No the none of the does were injured it was just the boys...
My poor cliff, I am just heartbroken over him.
He is the one that we had to do the emergency c section on back at the end of July in order to get him out.
Have to share a pic of him....I loved this boy. Wasn't he handsome?

I'm glad animal control is there to help. It's bad enough that your doe got it earlier this year - this better be the end of dog problems for you!

So Lisa, your fluffy butt thing totally made me laugh.......The blue Wyandotte I got from you has a very fluffy butt (bloomers!) I'd never trim her bum, though. Not unless I were to breed here and there were problems with the, ahem, connection. Angel is the same way, too, but on a smaller scale. I love big fluffy chickens <3

Birdman, thanks! You're sweet. I applied for an office position at a mortgage company. Basically, I'd be helping to handle final documents and get them out the door. It's a position that requires editing skills, so I'm excited

Good luck Red! I was a mortgage broker for years. Retired and done, but it was a great living, and I bet you would like it very much!

I love the fluffy bloomers too, just not poopy ones lol!

Blujems, I remember that boy when he was little! So sad. Dang dogs. You and Red have gotten the worst of it. My dog problems have all been my own dog.

Pawtrait love the rooster wish I could keep mine, Red let me know if you want to earn some money I need housekeeping help. Hubby told he he hadn't gathered eggs since Monday. I have 3 broodys and they peck him so he doesn't like to get the eggs. What a wus. I put my boots on with my robe and went out to the coop. Felt really good to be outside. Opened the big door to cluckingham Palace and let all the chickens out into the yard. They were so happy. I am not suppose to lift anything so Ed yelled at me a bit but it didn't hurt I'm ok. I had Ed get one of the pumplins in the garage, He split it with a shovel. put it in the coop. They ignored it just wanted grass. I'll go out later and tuck them in, I had 29 eggs, My hens are laying like crazy, The barnvelders eggs are Huge, Soo much fun,

Lisa just dropped off my new chicken....now I have 2 wheaten hens...Yay!
Now I will have some good eggs to hatch for New Years....
