Utah!

OK, So I took a few pics. I couldn't do the tin like I thought, it needs to be cut and I am not up to that today. I found some stuff and got it covered. well at least it will cut down on wind and should help a little. I have been worried because the wind seemed to come right in through the doors to the run.

This side of their run I ran out of material but it should cut down on the wind blowing inside the coop.

These were the eggs I found while I was out there. The FBCM egg is getting darker. yay!

and just cause they were being cute...Our Babies Tinkerbell and Handsome Jack.
Blujems, i have found for a quick draft fix that will last the winter is plastic. its cheap and easy use. a hand staple gun works really good and comes with staples. For about 30 bucks (plastic and gun) you can winterize even a large coop. and run. Don't worry about cutting a specific size just go nuts. staple everything then go back with a razor knife and cut out what you don't want (over lap, vents, door openings.) If you overlap the edges it will cut down wind draft almost 100%.

Ok quick help... The guy is offering chicks from his next hatch. He said the roo is blue with gold leakage over a blue hen, a porcelain hen, and a white frizzle hen.... With this make cool chickens?... I have no idea how it works

I would advise you wait until spring. Weather is safer for babies and you will have a bagger variety to choose from

Sundance hope you are doing well.

Cynthia funny story. Sorry about having to have a MRI.

My eggs are in SLC right now. I'm getting excited about starting up the incubator again. My black Silkie has stopped being broody. Thankfully! Both my silkies haven't even been sitting on eggs. My partridge is still holding out though. Funny birds. No eggs from 4 layers is getting old. My other two are still not laying age yet.

Hattie, I know it's exasperating not to have your hens laying, but I had a scenario pop into my head that made me giggle:
"Louise, come on! You've gotta eat some time, girl."
"In a minute!...........Must...........hatch...........BABIES!"

I feel like my interview went well. I may not find out until December if I got the job, but it sounds promising. I'll be so excited if I get it!

what kind of job did you interview for? hope you got it and i hope they realize how much of a steal you are :)

Here's one of my new black tailed buff marans roosters. He hatched out of a #7 colored marans egg in March of this year. I'm so excited to be working with this color variety. Don't get me wrong, I love my BCM's, but it's always fun to start a new project. Just had to share. I love this bird! He glows in the sun. So cheerful to see.

Blujems, nice work! You did a ton out there, they will thank you when the arctic wind starts a-howling. Cute dogs too! And I like their names.

Hattie, I am excited for you! And Cynthia, hope your MRI goes well...and your chicks are ok, and cannot wait to see them!

Red, good luck on this job. And your BF better be making you anxious for a good reason

Sundance, hope you are feeling better and resting at home comfortably. Sending good wishes your way!

Birdman, Mesha said she is hatching legbars in the spring! If you need me to get one for you when I go up sometime I am glad to give it a ride.

Mimi, if you are still looking for babies when mine come March 4 I owe ya two chicks :) if there are any breeds you want. Supposedly all are sexed, but you know how that goes...

What a day...I found my bucks had been attacked by the dog last night....Lost one, one is iffy, hope he pulls through, and 2 more were injured.
