Utah!

My hubby, met up with sundance's hubby. My hubby says that her hubby is a nice guy. Of course! :) Sundance and I both decided that our hubby's, are sweetums. :))
Sundance, some of those blue eggs are very very blue! I love the colors. I hope a lot of them are fertile. I want a girl from one or two of those!! And, did you know that you have the color of a first generation Olive Egg or two in there? I want a girl from one of those too! I am going to get and Olive Egg. :)
I am nervous about those tiny eggs again. Come on little tiny tots!

And, I have three pips from the last eggs you gave me. The three cochin eggs are pipped. Two are a bit towards the the middle, but I am not too worried about that yet. The little white one hasn't pipped yet. Those 4 went into lock down. I hope there is a splash girl in there for me. My little Bantam Favorelle is by herself right now. The boy that was in there left yesterday. My little Serama is still too small to go out into a large pen. Have to wait for better weather, and for her to grow some!

Thanks again Diana!!

Good news, One of my Silkie's (apricot) just kicked her son out of the coop tonight. Her daughter got the boot last week. She still wont sleep in the big coop and wants to be in the grow out coop. I think its a sign of a broody. She was sitting in the coop tonight on her egg she had laid and i pulled it out from under her then left her and the egg. An hour latter i returned with snack's to see if she would come out. She did, but had that kicked back attitude they get. I looked in the coop and she had pulled the egg back under her chest and was keeping it warm. Here is a picture of the out casts. Funny he chose to sleep next to his dad.

M I jealous of the blue eggs??? YES!!!!!! Fingers in ears again----

Diana--also if there is ever anyway for you to post a picture--you have GOT to share pics of that leghorn EE of yours. She is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. So many different shades of gray and black!

Well, I said I wouldn't worry about the one egg that pipped in the middle, and I should have. I got up to one chick hatched, and saw that the one pipped in the middle had started to zip, I thought, oh good. Then I looked closer, and knew, it was gone. Just by the color of the membrane. It had gone around, head tucked, and probably didn't have enough oxygen. I don't understand why it couldn't get through the membrane better. So, since the other one was pipped in the middle, I went ahead and helped it..It is just hanging out for a while, but not for long! And, the little white egg, had pipped, so I went ahead and opened it since the others were absorbed and ready, sure enough, it was too. It had pipped the shell, but this little one hadn't even broken through the membrane. What? The humidity was just right. Boy, when I opened that one, it went to town screaming and kicking. I think these three will be ok. They are all dark. Looks like they have some brown in them. The one from the white egg sure is tiny!

Yep, lol.. I should take pictures, but I know it wouldn't do justice..blue Lisa...blue!! Robin egg blue on a couple of them, and so many of the others are sky blue. Just beautiful.

Guess what? I got a message from C-A-L this morning, one of my chickie pics won! Yay! I never win anything, so I was really surprised :) Thanks Blujems for the link on the contest :) A wheaten Ameraucana chick from last summer of course. They really are the cutest babies. I think it was this one of these two, I sent in a few so not sure, butthese were in the ones they replied to in their email.

Congrats..what did you win? I tried too. Cute pics!

Well, none of my UofA eggs hatched. Some developed a little (two out of twelve), but quit pretty early on. So sad. I am 0 for 0 on shipped eggs. I have birchen marans cooking right now. They look like they are doing well, so I hope they hatch! Someone posted that they are hard to hatch, but no one has given me instructions on what to do differently.

Casa, congrats on the pics! Congrats to all the new hatchlings too!

The chicks that hatched a week ago are all doing great. I am going to try to get some updated pics this weekend. They still look to be two girls and a boy. They all think I am mama, which is endearing.
