Utah!

Hello! I'm back, anyone remember me? Haha, I jumped back on here really quick to make a very important question to everyone, it's sort of an emergency.
Is ANYONE near or in the Orem area missing 4 Chickens? Or know someone near or in the Orem area missing 4 chickens?
The police stopped by my house about a half an hour ago knowing I own chickens. He walked up to me, saying someone had found some chickens, and asking if they were mine. I, missing a young pullet and cockerel, said yes.
The man who found them came by as well and showed me the chickens, sadly they weren't mine. Although they aren't mine the police and the man who found them asked me to please hold them. Animal Control is coming tomorrow to make sure they're here, so that the man who found them won't have to take them to the shelter. But the police asked me to PLEASE ask around and help them find these poor bird's owners!

The birds are what seems to be maybe -
--a Black Sex-Link? She's a very big black bird with gold all over. She looks very old.
--a small, Ameraucana chick. She's black with gold and some red. Still cheeping like a baby. But fully feathered.
--another young chick, but surely a cockerel. It's a Red Cochin Cockerel, very young as well. Still has the baby voice and fully feathered.
--a black english game cockerel? He's older than the other chicks, but not an adult. His adult voice is barely cracking in, but he's fully feathered as well. He has the white earlobes.

They are all pretty tame and very scared to be away from home. If anyone can help me PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I don't want them to go to the shelter :(

How strange! I haven't heard anything but I am not in the right area at all.

Sundance, they are doing great. Have to figure a way to move them outside tomorrow because i need the brooder for the Bantam RIR chicks. I might have to move them into my aframe that my RIR handy cap chicken sits in all day. She is going to be not to happy.

Sorry this is bad lighting.

Aw! Cute little fedora's :D All your babies are so cute Gary, glad you posted the pics. Love the deep red going on with the others too! Hector, glad you are able to help foster dad the lost chickens. Hope they get claimed! Good to see you on here. You still have the buff laced polish? Would love to see how she turned out if you do!

Pancake, are your eggs under a broody? I'm very worried about the new eggs, if so. A mama chicken probably isn't going to sit around an extra five days after the other babies hatch, and she'll probably abandon those eggs you just stuck under her.

Madchicken, the chicks were just GONE gone? I hope they turn up! I've had one or two get out of their run and sometimes they'd come running when I wandered around outside for a bit. The chicks are so cute, especially the rust colored ones.

Lisa, it's so tough to get a good rooster, isn't it? I'm still in awe that you're willing to bring your rooster into the garage every night for your neighbors' sake.

Chiko, poor babies. I hope they're lost and not abandoned. Where there's several cockerals and a very old hen, the cynic in me wonders.

Chiko you should post them on KSL to see if anyone is looking for them. I looked and no one reported missing any chicks or chickens. With them being mostly roosters, I wonder if someone just left them. That's how came about to having chickens this year. Someone in March dumped chicks about 3 weeks old in a trash can at the gas station. They ended up all being Roosters besides one. So that is probably why they were dumped.

I hope you find their home, or someone to take them and give them a good home. Good luck!

Had an interesting day. What we thought would be a quick fix in the hospital for our son with Spina Bifida, turned out to be something else again. He went in to have a stone removed from his bladder..pretty big. Because of complications, they couldn't do it. Now, he will be talking with the dr. in a week about how to go in and get this thing. They are talking about doing a couple of serious surgeries that will keep him in the hospital for weeks.

He's here with us, will probably go home in a couple of days. I think I would like to go to that dr. office visit!

Chicko, did the owners come along for their babies? I hope they find a good home. I have the name of a girl that will take them if no one shows up. She rescues. They are babied. Let me know on fb.

Cynthia, so sorry to hear your boy is having trouble again! So many good thoughts going your way!

My ad for the Houdans roo is here...will let one pullet go with him if I can find a buyer

still have the SQ Silkie roo too.

Sorry you have to sell him....That was the problem with our silky rooster too.

I have a few plants in the yard this year, a tomato, cucumber and squash....Been waiting for weeks to get one cucumber, 3 little tomatoes and a zucchini....Went out this morning and they were all hollow with a little hole.....I realized the fence I put around them to keep the chickens out had big enough holes for them to put their heads through and eat.....Little buggers. gonna have to watch them closer.

Final count on the hatch 7/7. 4 Bantam RIR chicks. They will be for sale if anyone is looking for a some. I gave another broody hen 4 more banty eggs last sunday. Dont forget they are straight run.
