Hello all!!

. Been super busy. Finally have hired help here.

Red, hubby is home from spending a week at the Huntsman Center, and doing better. He'll be going back (finally) to work in a week... no chemo, although the surgery was super aggressive! Thanks for asking. Congrats on the wedding plans (please let me know where and when).

Wanted to run this as it's already hit KSL.

DESERT SPRINGS FARMS, in Duchesne, Utah, is having their 2014 Grand Opening, weekend of March 29th. We are a licensed hatchery and for the 2014 year will be offering several breeds and colorations of poultry. We have both hatchery production quality and show quality available in many breeds, which have been brought in from around the country and the UK. We also have a very prolific flock of guinea fowl on the premises, which make the offering of guinea keets possible later in the year.

Chicks available at Desert Springs Farms on March 29th are as follows (if hatching goes well for each breed and coloration):

Black Australorps
Delawares
Buff Orpingtons
Bantam Chocolate Orpingtons
Blue/Black/Splash/White Orpingtons
Cream Legbars
Olive Eggers (Maran X Ameraucana)
Wheaten & Blue Wheaten Ameraucana (purebred, not Easter Eggers)
Blue/Black/Splash/White Ameraucana (purebred, not Easter Eggers)
Lavender Orpingtons
Icelandics
Welsummers
Barred Hollands

Starting price is $5 each. Chicks can be reserved for pick up!!

Nice Christina! Congrats on the grand opening so very exciting!

Cynthia, if Tell wants them he can try, but I don't think I will be heading your way anytime soon, I could possibly meet in Orem if he wants. 2 are 2 days old today, the other is 1 day today, so not sure what age a momma will take them. My 2 year old fell and cracked both his front teeth, so tomorrow at 7:30am they are knocking him out by IV sedation to fix them so it doesn't cause root infection they told me it will take about an hour, and then we have to stay there for at least an hour or so after they wake him up, so not sure how he will feel tomorrow for a trip south. Then I also have to pick my husband up from the airport tomorrow night at 10:50pm. Yes, I could kill him that its so late. Oh well.

Tell is getting 4 of mine. So he's good. I would love to have that silver NN if it's a girl. Or what ever color it is.
Man! You are busy tomorrow. Hope all goes as planned! Poor baby, cracking his teeth, bet that's sensitive. :/

Oh wow those are some super super cute babies karen! Wheee! Love the variety, so many fun things/colors going on!

Ace, You sure can have dibs on SBEL's. Kimmypie is the only other one who has expressed interest so far, but not sure about travel arrangements. We should definitely have plenty.

I'm still interested in the SBELs, I'm just trying to decide how much gas I'm willing to burn to get some blue egg layers. :)

Sphinx do you still have Legbars? That's another breed I've been interested in, I just don't have an incubator and no broody yet.

My 2nd batch of SBEL's are from a legbar rooster over leghorn hens. Eggs are more minty green, but babies should be fun. They are from DMRippy. (if you are interested :D

Where are you traveling from? Maybe we can find a train.

I am coming from. Eagle Mountain which is in Northern Utah County. I had no idea where it was before we moved here. :) I can make it as far north as Bountiful-ish in the time I have from getting my kindergartner on the bus and when I need to be home to get them all off the bus.

Cynthia do you really want the Silver NN with the look of attitude? That would be awesome so I can see how it turns out. Let me know and I can try to get down and meet you somewhere.

Desert, your grand opening sounds AMAZING. I hope it's a huge success. Glad your husband is resting up and recovering well. I've been thinking about him a LOT. Glad you hired someone to help you with everything going on.

Silly, that is so awful that he cracked his teeth. My 3rd tried to eat a coffee table a few years ago. Ended up losing her four upper front teeth over it. Had to be sedated to get three of them out. The fourth one hung on for a couple years, but then had to be pulled too. I hope that someday, her adult teeth come in and she loses the toothless look. You have my sympathy. It was rough.

Kimmy, I have two legbar hens. Unfortunately, I lost my rooster. I want to move this spring, so I don't want to acquire anything new until I know where I'm moving. Desert Springs is going to be the way to go on legbars right now. Or possibly Donna, if she materializes again.
