Utah!

Sundance, glad you're feeling better. Hope everyone else is okay. Haven't had much time to read through here and have been really stressed, but I wanted to share a little funny from tonight. I went out to collect eggs out of the coop because my broody Wyandotte keeps hoarding them under her. She had 21 eggs she was sitting on. I confiscated 6 questionable eggs and one bacteria bomb. Let her keep the rest

I just am beyond caring much about it right now.

A little busy with other things right now red?

Try, to have fun with it all. It can be stressful, but find some fun in it all.

Are you talking about the one that paw did? My nipple part was a bit tight, and sometimes they come that way, easy to get it loosened. Then they barely touch it and there is water. Put the other water in until you can loosen it. :)
Not mine, Cynthia but made from the same water nipples.

How do you loosen it? The water level is down so they are getting water, I just worry that it's not enough. At least this water isn't getting filled with shavings and all over the brooder box!
Push the pin in as far as it will go a few times. There is a spring inside. If the water level is going down, no worries. Damp bedding is a respiratory issue risk so I get my babies on the bottle as soon as they are big enough. For my quail that's 10 days old.

QUESTION.....who here is going to Chickenstock this year? I'm going to donate some birds for the FREE drawing. Does anyone else have something they'd like to donate to increase interest in the show?? What do you think would inspire attendance?

Those aren't mine, they are being sold to retailers by Susan at All'Bout Chickens. She's mainly selling the buckets for adult chickens with the horizontal nipples but has the Chick Baby Bottles as well. She's such a nice person. I'm hoping I can talk her into going to Chickenstock this year. She's really busy, though.

I swear, they look just like yours. I'm thinking there are a lot of nice chicken people around here..and there. :)

Well I'm back from my girl scout trip to Vegas, and we had a Blast! All the chicks did awesome without mom. Other then needing a good cleaning. They did great with the chick water bottle. So glad because I know my husband would not have changed out the messy water several times a day. I really should stick them outside in the garage, never really thought about that. They are in an exlarge wire crate with an XL plastic base. I'm hoping by the time Easter comes around I can put them outside in the grow out pen since I want to do the Easter Hatch, and fill up the incubator just for fun. They will be around 8-9 weeks. But I just worry about the Silkies. Which 3 of them I'm sure are going to be White :D So anyone what a White Silkie let me know. I'm thinking that the dark chocolate one and one of the white ones are Roo's. They are almost double the size of the other 4. The Partridge is for sure the smallest of the bunch. But I guess only time will tell. Going to be hard selling 4-5 of them. I really only going to keep one, maybe 2, I already have 2 outside, I would keep them all if I had the space.

Red your one chick that is black with the copper is a giant. Its huge. I looks like its at least 3 weeks older then everything else in there. I hope its a huge, big fat hen. I really don't have a large hen outside now.

Silly, I hope it's a girl, too! That would be awesome for you.

Found out today that the rec hall in the church where my reception is going to be got refinished........without maintenance letting anyone know. And they won't let anyone on the floor until the 19th. Sooo thanks to a couple of very awesome people, my reception is going to be in a different building around the corner and down the street. I'll just have to put up a sign at the original building to let people know where we went. Sigh...........

Took four of my girls and my youngest rooster over to my neighbor tonight. They will be living with him from now on, and he was pretty excited to get them. He got my blue Ameraucana because he loves blue eggs.
