I just separated by welsummers how long after removing the other breeds of roosters do you feel comfortable collecting the eggs and knowing they are fertilized by the welsummer rooster? I have been waiting two weeks just wondering how long everyone else waits.
No clue!Quote:
That make sense. I am just wondering if I need to wait that long. My welsummer hens have been with 3 welsummer roosters and a marans rooster. Once I removed the marans rooster do I still need to wait 2 weeks to make sure none of the chicks will be his. Or since the hens are currently being breed by the welsummer rooster does that decrease the time I need to wait to make sure I don't get any 1/2 marans.
Silly, I hope it's a girl, too! That would be awesome for you.
Found out today that the rec hall in the church where my reception is going to be got refinished........without maintenance letting anyone know. And they won't let anyone on the floor until the 19th. Sooo thanks to a couple of very awesome people, my reception is going to be in a different building around the corner and down the street. I'll just have to put up a sign at the original building to let people know where we went. Sigh...........
Took four of my girls and my youngest rooster over to my neighbor tonight. They will be living with him from now on, and he was pretty excited to get them. He got my blue Ameraucana because he loves blue eggs.
I would wait 3 weeks before starting to collect. this way at 4 weeks you can tell how good the new rooster is fertilizing the eggs.I just separated by welsummers how long after removing the other breeds of roosters do you feel comfortable collecting the eggs and knowing they are fertilized by the welsummer rooster?
