Utah!

Hi Everyone,

I live in Orem. Does anyone know some one I can call to process extra chickens in my area? Work two jobs so most likely won't get to it. Thank you in advance!

Well I'm pretty sure my hatch is all over, I have I think 29, I have to go count them all up. So I guess 69% Hatch Rate isn't too bad for my 2nd hatch, right? I still have 6 eggs in the incubator over night, and no movement or no pips. I will leave them till tomorrow, today is 22 days.

I do have an OE that is having an extremely hard time. :( I was advised last night to give her a bath, since she was stuck in the shell, and was in the incubator for about 2 1/2 hours and was still extremely wet and sticky. She also has severe curled toes both feet and I think I'm going to have to band her legs too. She stayed in a paper towel lined coffee cup most of the night in the brooder. I last checked on her at 3 am this morning and she was still in the cup, this morning she had wiggled her way out of the cup and was in with the others. She seems to be doing okay, she does need to absorb more yolk, she has the biggest belly, but seems to be able to stay on her belly today. I don't think putting her back in the cup is going to help since she can just wiggle out. So this morning after everything settles down here, she is getting her feet taped and I'm going to try to do the banding between the legs. So everyone wish me and this little chick luck!

I am so excited I had the best Easter present ever. I was pretty discouraged last night as none of my FBCM eggs had even pipped yesterday and my other eggs had all hatched. I woke up this morning to two FBCM hatched and another pipped. I am planning on keeping all of these babies so this is a big treat for me. I'll take some pictures later.

Yeah! Happy Easter to you!

here is a picture of all the chicks I have so far. I have 3 blue Frizzle Americanas, one black frizzle Americana and one chipmunk Frizzle Americana. Not sure if the chicks will frizzle but they have a 50/50 change. Also in the picture are 2 of three FBCM, I am so excited about them. I am keeping all of them for my own personal flock. I have one more but it was still hatching.
Happy easter everyone

Bitsy, she's definitely blue. The white will go away. My black Wyandotte had that as a chick and now she's pure black.

Yes, just like an Australorp. They have white in the wing for a long time, but when full grown, they are pure black. I'm thinking that is a blue bitsy.

Nice hatch sundance. I am loving the blue. I want a LF blue out there now. And a splash. Still thinking I may go with splash Marans, and I'm the one that said I didn't have good luck with the peronality on them Could have just been the two that I had. Love, the blue splash Marans looks! You will have to post these later if they start to fizzle..it's so cute when they first start.

So here are the fluffy butts. Anyone know if my Yellow Ameraucana's are Wheaten? They all came out of blue eggs. They were all blue. I will have some for sale too anyone wants any. My friend is take a few traditional chipmunks, and then 1 yellow, and then 2 yellow/blue. I think I will keep the other yellow/blue to see it grow up. But she might change her mind when she comes over to pick them up, but I will for sure have a few for sale.

Finally count right now, I still have eggs in the incubator, on day 22.
11-Olive Eggers, 4 Feathered Shanks, 7 cleaned legged. I'm keeping all 4 Feathered shanks, praying for pullets-The others are for sale.
5-Yellow Ameraucana
3-Yellow/Blue Ameraucana
5-Traditional Chipmunk Ameraucana
3-Brown Leghorns
2-Welsummers
29 total.

Blue Wheatens???

Olive Eggers

All the brown chipmunks. Its a good thing the Ameraucana's have slate colored eggs, and the leghorns has a raised comb, or I wouldn't be able to tell them all apart.

Just cracked open a store bought hard boiled egg since we did 2 1/2 dozen white eggs from the store dying yesterday. Next year not going to do that since you can dye the pre-dyed eggs, I didn't know if they would. But anyways. I had to through the egg to the chickens, it was horrible, you can tell a real huge difference in the store bought vs. my girls. OMG, I can't believe how much better my eggs taste. I feel spoiled now.
