I am seriously almost in tears. Holding them back. I can't believe I was this stupid! I know not to leave the waterer near the babies especially without rock in it..yes, I just lost my white to drowning.

I don't cuss, but I know I few words. :/

cyn I am so sorry.  I hate it when I make mistakes like that.  on a happy note I am going to chicken stock.  Not taking my chicks as I couldn't figure out how to keep them warm on the long drive.  I am taking fertile eggs to sell 

If you still want to try it....They do good in a box on the floor, with a little heat turned on the floor setting....with the sun out you could just set them by the window that the sun is shining though on, that would do the trick! If you bring a brooder lamp there is electricity in the booths you could use. Just bring an extension cord, some of them do not reach.

it's a 4x4x8 shipping crate and I'm getting it for free!!! (except to pay someone to load it up for me)... and then unloading... not sure how that's going to happen...

I'm so excited

UGH, I wish my dad was available to get it for me... but he's out of town until Saturday he would have been the best to get it ...

I have a friend that is trying to sell a roo and 4 hens.

Cynthia, in case my earlier request got buried, I would love to find out more about this little flock. In fact, I think I'd love to own them. Can you pm owner details or have the owner pm me?

The little chicks you helped me help out of their eggs last spring are doing great. Dora lays the cutest blue eggs and is a doll.

Congrats on the great hatch! They are beautiful chicks and making me wish I could talk the husband into a house silkie! Again, I'm so so sorry about the little white one. I know that's gotta be tough on ya.

Ok, I found my marbles..pun intended.

I can't believe I didn't think of getting those in there. I was so busy watching them..I forgot! But, the marbles are in now.
I went out and took photos of my white that is in the grow out pen. It is looking like a boy..ey Lisa ~ Diane?? I am hoping, that those pin feathers that are coming in around the neck is going to make a nice full beard. So far, every thing else about him is good. Want to try the collar on him. Breed him to some of the nice light ones I have, and hopefully will get from the other hatch. Crossing fingers for paints, they would be fun. Hadn't thought of them before, but her photos of them are soo pretty! Here is my white out side. Looking boyish! ish ish...








Lisa, this is probably a sibling to your black..didn't have a good hatch with that black one,
she sent 4 more eggs, got this white. Is your black getting a nice sized beard?
He is about a month older than this one.

What a sweetheart! I am definitely agreeing with you about looking boyish I am pretty confident my white "possible boy" is going to have a nice full beard/crest. Its always been super fluffy. I am really confused by its comb right now though, and not sure whether to keep it or sell it as a roo. Its only a month old but its comb is raising a bit but is also trying to grow fuzz on the center of it which puzzles me. I'll have to take pics of my white one and get you guys opinion. My splash's comb is alot more raised though then the white one and is probably likely going to be a roo. I will take pics of both their combs and show you how they are both developing. I'd love to get you guys opinions on mine
