Utah!

Also Lisa, one of the chicks I hatched from your eggs for the classroom went on to win a trophy at the fair! If you didn't know already, you have SQ stock!

Super cute baby :D Congrats on the Trophy!

what are the oldest Leghorns you have available? Definitely interested. :D
Welsummer eggs are gorgeous!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!  I would love some Buff Orpingtons, I would just hate to have to re-home a roo. We are hoping to get some chicks about February.  The closest place to us with a large selection is the Ogden IFA.  Does anyone have any experience with them?

I have a Buff Orpington (I like big butts and can not lie), Austrolorp and a black sex link. As a chicken Noob ( the girls are 8 mo old) this mix had been very easy and very friendly. Despite waiting 7.5 mo for my australorp to lay she is the sweetest and biggest the lot. DH insists that she is a duck. She quacks more than clucks.

Thank you Lisa. I can't do the hug emoticon from my phone, but yes. Aimed at you.

Hmm, Australorp. That is one I've become increasingly interested in. You never see the chicks out here in Tooele. And yes, Buff Orps and Barred Rocks are very sweet and enjoyable breeds :)

I've liked my black australorps. They've been good layers and do well with the flock. I just got my second group of australorps. Should be laying in the next few weeks!

I find the Black Australorp to be fairly boring. Haha. Just a regular black chicken laying a regular brown egg. Haha.

I think everyone here has spoiled me by posting pictures of their amazing fowl! :)

But, on the other hand, there is true beauty in simplicity... :)

I just adore the one black Austrolorp we have. She is gorgeous and looks so regal. She is just over six months old, so, not laying yet, but, hopefully next month or so. We had two, but, one turned out to be a roo, and our dog got hold of him when he was 12 weeks old. So, now we have one. Hoping to get another at some point.
