Utah!

Sorry about pencil. If you're near Ogden, I'll make you a concoction for her with tea tree oil and some other good natural antiinfectives. I've also got some of that nasty tasting stuff that makes them stop pecking. It works well if used early.

Lisa, which one is Shirley? Not the one with the funny tail, right?

How old are they now? lol..I would have to look on my calender. If that chicken starts laying, even withing a month, that is early for an EE. Is that the one with the most frosted white on her muffs...at least now you know she is a she for sure! Oh I hope you get a blue egg.

Wah! My cream legbar eggs from Jordan Farms are hatching at home and I am stuck here at work. My oldest son texted me that two had hatched already (out of 4, I think--they are in there with BLRW's hatching at the same time!). I don't get to go home until about 7:30 am.

And now I am wanting a Marans, just for the lovely eggs! And I don't want to wait for it to grow up--I want the eggs now!

Does this never end? There are just more and more and more chickens! Plus, my son's second set of Breda's are supposed to arrive tomorrow at the post office. Oh, dear, I think I will be swimming in chicks shortly.

Shirley is the solid black EE (FCBMarans dad/ Amer. Mom) I got from you---clean legged one, no white frosted tips on the muffs. Potential olive eggs....will see! Exciting! She has been checking the nests out. I was surprised too---her comb has been turning really red--Laverne's is not at all yet....Ishe should be about 19 weeks now..., if she lays at 21-ish that is pretty early for an EE for sure, will see what happens. Do Marans lay early? I thought they were a bit later too. If she did lay blue I would pass out on the spot lol

Does anybody want a male duckling? I got two at CAL Ranch on Sunday and only really want one. They are males because I watched a video on how to properly, and safely vent sex them. jwoo, Guess what? I candled the 4 duck eggs you gave me, and all 4 are fertile! I can see a little embryo in each egg except for one egg, it doesn't have one embryo, it has two! I'm worried because twins don't usually turn out well, but if they turn out OK I will be so happy!

What kind of duck? I'm looking for a runner. They had some at cal ranch... they were the bigger ones. Stand upright like walking bowling pins...

Bring hatching eggs and chicks to the intervention, and let's just have a party!!

Also, I don't know if any of you are into gardening, but I thought I'd toss this out just in case. I have a bunch of extra adirondack blue potatoes, some chocolate cherry tomato seeds, some cool yellow heirloom tomatoes, and some purple broccoli. I'd love to trade them for something.

I have some chocolate colored peppers, and some Marconi Bell peppers that were AMAZING!! Let me know if you're interested. I would love some Blue Potatoes!

Exciting about the Cream Legbars Hatch. I have some 3 month old CLB's and some 3 weeks old CLB's. I hatched a grab bag of Marans last November and ended up with a Black Copper pullet, Wheaton Pullet, Splash Pullet, and Blacktailed Buff Pullet. I got the first egg from the group yesterday after noon. A lovely dark egg from the Blacktailed Buff. She isn't even five months old yet, but I have waited as much as 7 months on a Maran and know what you mean about not wanting to wait for the eggs. :)
