Today is day 19 for my Ameraucana eggs, and i have 1 egg wobbling ALOT, its been wobbling non stop for hours. I am getting pretty excited. I have some Barnevelders hatching out 2 days after the Ameraucanas as well.
So just now i walked out to check on my chickens, and they are in their usually roosting places, but i notice my Silkie is not where she normally is. I looked around a bit, and found her sitting on the days eggs. She gave me a little growl when i walked by, so i gave her a few fertile eggs. Looks like i'll be hatching my first eggs under a broody! I'm pretty excited, lets just hope she'll be a good mom.
Sorry to hear about your loss Lilwanis I feel your pain, a while ago my grandpa, the toughest guy I ever knew, came down with alzheimers, he's healthy as a 20 year old, but in his 90's and he doesn't know who I am anymore, it sure does stink having to see him like that.

My sg eggs are hatching this morning, they are not due til tomorrow morning, but it goes this way... so funny I went up to the bator, all was quiet, then I could see through the window and empty egg, and there was a little one huddled in the corner just as quiet as can be. I have yet to hear her cheep! i put her in the brooder, and she is just looking around wide-eyed so cute. Not a word. Here is the even funnier thing...these were supposed to be white SG bred to white SG, i was worried about the bowties not being so big but thinking it was ok because they would hatch out way more SG than silkies....but this one is a little silkie, and not looking white at all, maybe partridge or buff...could be splash but the top looks really more brown. Will need to wait for her to dry and see for sure. She has the five toes and fully black skin, but fully feathered neck lol. What a cutie, I am loving that she is so stil and quiet, and she was very much liking when I was holding her. Pics will follow in a few hours! Crossing fingers for some white SG though!
